Electrographite Carbon Co. (Pty) Ltd. was established in South Africa in 1974, when we acquired the land where we built the first phase of operations for the manufacture of Carbon Brushes and Sliding Contacts. This makes ECC the first company of its kind in Africa that is 100% South African Manufactured Products and the second in the Southern Hemisphere.
Electrographite Carbon Co. (Pty) Ltd. now has grown to having a factory area of 1500m² and office area of about 410m². Currently we produce approximately 10 tons per annum of carbon blocks for electrical sliding contacts and have the capacity to increase production to 20 tons per annum.
Electrographite Carbon Co. (Pty) Ltd. has a maximum machining capacity of turning 1.3m in diameter and 2m in height on our Vertical Boring Mill, and 500mm in diameter and 3m in length on our Conventional Lathe. We have Conventional Milling Machines, Universal Knee Milling Machines and CNC Milling Machines. We can work to close tolerances over any size ranges.
