Metal Bonded Metal Graphite
Description
These Grades are comprised of a small percentage of Graphite Powder and Copper and other various Metal Powders which are then Sintered at medium temperatures with a Metal Binder. These Grades are mainly used for very low Peripheral Speed Sliding Contacts for Cranes and Continuous Electro-plating Systems. CG-grades have the following characteristics:
- high Electrical Conductivity,
- low Specific Resistance,
- low Voltage Drop,
- low Peripheral Speeds,
- high Current Densities of up to 30 A/cm², and
- good Anti-oxidizing Properties for outside or coastal conditions.
Application
CG14SP – ZN2: Most commonly used on slip ring motors, difficult commutation of low voltage, high and low current rated machines, low voltage battery operated vehicles and low voltage traction motors, also for locomotives earthing brushes, as well as low voltage, high current contacts, electro-plating processes, crane collectors, automotive i.e. starters as windscreen wipers.
